The WIT Network is a community of professionals across the world that believe in making it easier for women to imagine, begin and develop a career in IT. We have grown from just 3 to 80 Communities in less than 4 years, and are supported by Microsoft in over 45 countries. As a non-profit organization, our mission and mandate: o Attract, retain and encourage girls and women to embrace STEM/STEAM education and careers o Encourage and inspire women to advance into leadership positions in and/or to start their own businesses o Provide mentorship opportunities that span the entire career of every woman o Continue our philanthropic efforts that make STEM/STEAM education available to all women o Help other organizations define and implement effective diversity and inclusion strategies And that's not all! We plan to: o Start a WIT Chapter in every country in the world! o Provide pre-packaged programs &resources to ensure consistency and make it easy for each chapter to operate o Solicit regular feedback from our members to ensure we are meeting the needs of our communities o Embrace collaboration opportunities with other WIT groups to extend our impact o Become a leader in providing WIT Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) packaged solutions to IT organizations globally o Maximize funding available to drive value for BOTH our members and sponsors Everyone is welcome to be part of The WIT Network! At the Berkshire LEP we believe in collaborative momentum: bringing together business, our unitary authorities, education and the community sector to drive the local economy to new levels of growth. As part of the wider Thames Valley economic region, we serve Berkshire – an area second only to Greater London in output, with a GVA of £30bn per annum. We’re a strategic body led by an executive board of directors with a leading local business figure in the chair; all are volunteers. We’ve developed a Strategic Economic Plan that sets out the vision and business priorities for economic growth in Thames Valley Berkshire. It aims to build on the success of our Technology Sector, which already underpins Britain’s contribution to global telecoms, software, pharmaceuticals and new media advances. The development of our Plan has been enterprise-led but formally approved by all six of the unitary authorities in Thames Valley Berkshire. We don’t just want to get things moving. We don’t even simply want to keep them moving. We want to accelerate the pace of growth and change. The more organisations and people we can involve, and the more energy we can harness, the better Thames Valley Berkshire will be.
