The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners is the largest medical college in New Zealand. We have around 5,500 members, who represent close to 90 percent of the country’s GPs. The College's overall goal to improve the health of New Zealanders through high quality general practice care. We do this by providing training, ongoing education, research, advocacy and support for general practitioners and and rural hospital generalists. We also set standards (CORNERSTONE accreditation) for general practices across the country. The College has a commitment to embed the three principles (participation, partnership and protection) of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Treaty of Waitangi) across its work, and to achieving health equity in New Zealand.

From modest beginnings on what was largely farmland, the University of Waikato has grown to a student population of about 13,000 of whom more than 4800 complete a qualification annually. Today the University employs 2000 academic and support staff, making a significant contribution to the local and national economy. We are committed to delivering a world-class education and research portfolio, providing a full and dynamic university experience, distinctive in character, and pursuing strong international links to advance knowledge. Since our earliest days we have worked closely with iwi, particularly Tainui, to make the University accessible to Maori students and to foster an environment of success. We are proud of our evolution into a truly New Zealand institution, supporting our countrys nation-building policies and reflecting our nations identity. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES We are all about encouraging conversation but we have some house rules. Content we will remove: • Spam: any type of sales, buying or selling, or self-promotion, legal or illegal, will be removed. • Links: to prevent the spread of misinformation, spam, malware, or potentially inappropriate content, comments featuring a link to another site will be removed, regardless of the URL included. • Problem comments: repeated comments, explicit comments, unrelated comments, or misleading comments will be deleted and users may be banned. • Hate speech: racism, sexism (including disrespectful or explicit comments to other users), religious discrimination, homophobia and trolling are all completely unacceptable to the University of Waikato. Users who engage in any of these activities will be banned.
