Dyreværnet was established in 1898, and is Denmarks oldest animal welfare organization. Dyreværnet is a NGO and the organization saves more than 1.200 animals every year - animals who are later adopted by animal lovers from all over the country. As Dyreværnet is a non-government-organization (NGO), it survives on donations, testamentary donations, sponsorships and memberships.
