Empowering Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs with Social and Financial Skills for a Fairer Future
Aflatoun International offers social and financial education to 10.5 million children and young people worldwide, empowering them to make positive change for a sustainable world. We empower children and young people by providing them with the tools to run their own social and financial enterprises, like our very own success story Kojo's Bikes.
Our young entrepreneur decided to turn his life around with one simple idea: renting out his bike and saving the money for his education. Kojo's business has quadrupled since. He now has four bikes and plans on having bike shops all across Africa one day.
There are many Kojo's out there so, in order to equip them all with the 21st-century skills, we create high-quality curricula, for different age groups. These are implemented by local partners and can be contextualised to local needs and specific circumstances, like youth employment, girls' empowerment and peacebuilding.
Our educational material proves to be effective: it is one of the most well-researched life skills and financial education programmes globally and has been increasingly recognised as successful and innovative by The Brookings Institution and Harvard Graduate School of Education alike.

The CHILDLINE service, developed and managed by CHILDLINE India Foundation (CIF), is a free 24x7 emergency phone outreach service. Children or concerned adults dial the number 1098, from any phone services in India, and are connected to the CHILDLINE service in their city. CHILDLINE is India’s national-level response to the ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The 1098 service is available to all phone service providers across India. CHILDLINE responds in over 25 languages across India. CHILDLINE teams physically reach children within approx. an hour of the call, provide SOS attention and link children in need of care and protection to organizations run by government departments as well as those run by civil society agencies.
Children and youth living alone on urban streets, child labour – especially in the unorganized sector, child abuse, children being victims of the flesh trade, ill treatment of differently-abled children, addiction in children, children in conflict with the law, children in institutions, mental illness in children, HIV/AIDS or other long term diseases in children, children affected by conflicts and disasters or being political refugees, children’s families in crises, female foeticide, undernourishment, illiteracy, trafficking – are among the host of issues plaguing children in India and also represents the range of cases handled by CHILDLINE. Each kind of case requires its own unique protocol to be followed. CHILDLINE works closely with Allied systems- Police, Education and Health departments, Railways and Judiciary in order to resolve cases.
Initiated in 1996, CHILDLINE currently operates in 543+ districts and 117+ railway stations, through its unique social-franchise network of over 980+ partner organizations across India, and services over 8-10 million calls and 300,000 interventions a year.

We are NGOs, social enterprises, intermediaries, funders and other social change innovators, collaborating in this urgent moment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We live in a unique era of human progress. Extreme poverty, malnutrition, violence, and infectious disease have plummeted, while life expectancy, literacy rates, and electricity access have soared. Yet, severe inequalities in income, health, education, and representation disadvantage billions around the world. Meanwhile, humanity’s growing ecological footprint is threatening many of the natural systems we all depend on—such as climate, oceans, land, biodiversity, and fresh water—which are nearing irreversible tipping points. These crises often intersect, creating conditions ripe for instability and conflict.
We may be the last generation alive that can act to reverse these trends. Catalyst 2030 believes that collective action and bold, new strategies are needed to address the crises of our time. Joining forces with communities, governments, businesses, and others, Catalyst 2030 members are working toward changing systems at all levels. Cumulatively, members have already impacted the lives of millions, often with limited resources. Together, we envision the realisation of the SDGs for all.

One Family Foundation is a family run foundation that aims to help eradicate poverty by working with all stakeholders and initiating fundamental systems change. This collaborative systems change is a form of systems change that creates a distributed ecosystem of development. It aims to shift the development paradigm from large organisation controlled development to a more shared equitable exchange of resources. It recognises that there is no one big answer to complex problems, but instead a plethora of smaller efforts working in harmony that culminate in widespread adoption of new ways of thinking and doing.

We did it!
We created the Movement we had always hoped to create for the financial inclusion and financial education of young people. 70 countries have changed policies. 175 countries took part in Global Money Week in which over 40 million children and youth were reached, and 63,000 organizations have been involved.
In ten short years we disrupted the financial ecoystem and created a new status quo, earning us a place as #34 in the top NGOs of the world; the youngest NGO to make the list!
It is with great pride that we share that CYFI has concluded its role as Movement coordinator and now the Movement have taken the lead. CYFI officially shut its doors on 31 December 2019.
CYFI initiatives included:
❶ Global Money Week (GMW)
www.globalmoneyweek.org
Now handed over to the OECD
❷ Global Inclusion Awards (GIA)
Recognizing institutions who further financial literacy, inclusion and entrepreneurship for young people
Now handed over to Alliance for Finance Inclusion
❸ Ye! for Young Entrepreneurs (Ye!)
Supporting youth entrepreneurs around the world.

Now handed over to the International Trade Centre
