We are a tech company based in Münster, Germany, pioneering the chemical recycling of cotton-polyester textiles. Founded in 2019, we have developed a breakthrough technology that efficiently separates and recovers cellulose and PET monomers. These high-quality materials serve as the basis for virgin-quality fibers, enabling the transition toward a fully circular textile industry.

Novameat is pioneering a new generation of protein cuts, specifically created for food makers. We challenge the limitations of conventional plant-based alternatives, which often impose constraints on culinary creativity. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that true culinary culture is about exploration, not restriction – the pursuit of the perfect bite, not the adherence to a rigid recipe. We achieve this by combining natural ingredients with advanced texturing technology to craft protein cuts that inspire gastronomic innovation.
Our commitment to quality is reflected in our gentle, low-temperature, low-pressure process, which preserves the full flavour, aroma, and nutrients of every cut. Building on years of R&D, we are dedicated to providing food makers with versatile, high-quality ingredients, always gluten- and soy-free, and produced to BRCGS standards.

In 2013, our Chief Scientific Officer Professor Mark Post unveiled the world’s first cultured meat hamburger to a packed press conference in London. The burger was harvested directly from cow cells, rather than raising and slaughtering a whole animal. It was the result of years of research at Maastricht University, and cost €250,000 to make. The effort was funded by Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google.
Our motivation was to find a new method to make real meat to feed our fast-growing population in a sustainable, healthy and animal-friendly way.
Following the success of the first hamburger, we created Mosa Meat to commercialise cultured meat (also known as clean meat, cultivated meat or cell-based meat) and bring it to plates everywhere.
In the past few years we’ve made significant scientific breakthroughs, and brought the price down considerably. We’re now focussed on scaling up the production process, and getting our first products to market.
