In 2018, Harvard Business Review reported that Asian Americans are by far the least likely group to be promoted to management. Lunar Accel is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the premier, first-of-its-kind career accelerator for ambitious, early-career East and Southeast Asian American professionals who want to have an outsized impact on the world by becoming the next generation of executives, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, community organizers, and changemakers. We believe that one of the best ways to celebrate the diversity of our community’s unique cultural backgrounds, experiences, and accomplishments is to invest in each other and give back. That’s why we developed our first-of-its-kind Flagship Career Accelerator—featuring keynote speakers, executive coaching workshops, mentorship programming, and social events—to create more opportunities for early-career Asian American professionals to connect, be inspired by, and support each other’s growth. Our previous guests have included Patrick Lee (Rotten Tomatoes), Sandro Roco (Sanzo Sparkling Water), Sarah Miyazawa LaFleur (M.M.LaFleur), Chieh Huang (Boxed, NYSE: BOXD), Charles Huang (Guitar Hero), Sean Ro (Lunar Hard Seltzer), Amelie Kang (Mala Project), Daniel Chang (VP of M&A, AmEx Global Business Travel), and more. Follow us on our socials and check out our website at LunarAccel.org for the latest events and programming in New York City. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out at lunaraccel@gmail.com. Lunar Accel, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization incorporated in the state of New York. All contributions are tax-deductible for income, gift, and estate taxes.

Grow your network, grow your career. Mentorship is the most effective way to build your network and career. Not everyone has the same access, so we built Merit for the under-networked tech worker to grow their craft, career, and confidence. Merit connects tech talent to grow their craft, career and community. Its is as simple as picking a topic, person and time. We connect curious, eager members with mentors who want to impact the tech industry for the better. Our vision is a real meritocracy for the tech industry, and we’ll get there, one conversation at a time.

13 Fund is a foundation started by Bilal Mahmood and Jason Shen, two entrepreneurs who exited their companies in 2020 and wanted to give back to the communities that supported them. Over the next four years, 13 Fund will contribute $100k in unrestricted funds to emerging nonprofits tackling local issues in San Francisco and New York such as small-business development, homelessness, and mass incarceration using a uniquely transparent and principle-driven approach that we call "angel philanthropy".

The Gumball Challenge: Held at high school and university campuses nationwide, student teams receive a $27 loan from Gumball Capital and have a week to generate maximum revenue. At the week's end, money raised is collected and then loaned out by the Gumball Fund to promising entrepreneurs in third world countries. By participating in this entrepreneurial competition, students experience how their energy and creativity can lift like-minded people out of the chains of poverty. Goals of the Challenge: 1.) Empower students to do remarkable things with their creativity and energy. 2.) Educate and inspire students about the power of microfinance and social entrepreneurship. 3.) Fund micro-loans to the working poor with Challenge revenue.
