Emerging Prairie began in 2013 as a digital media company, sharing news about entrepreneurship and founders. Soon after, our four founders realized they had a knack for creating connections and event planning. We launched our region into a new stage of connecting and supporting entrepreneurs through events, programs, and conferences designed to accelerate growth in our area. In 2019, we launched the Grand Farm initiative. Inspired by local entrepreneurs, we were challenged to brainstorm, "What is our state's major?". After months of research, we decided that agriculture technology was the future of our region. We partnered with Microsoft (and dozens of others), and began our venture into the world of agtech. Born from Grand Farm, we saw a need to train software engineers to fill the hundreds of jobs available in our state. We launched Emerging Digital Academy to fulfill that need, with a goal of sending 50 students through our 20-week immersive program each year. We're excited about the future of our region, and are constantly inspired by those that exist within it. Interested in joining us on our mission? Learn more at www.emergingprairie.com.

We seek out and collaborate with community leaders, other values-aligned social change organizations, foundations, individual philanthropists, and regional SVPs to co-create an ecosystem where magic happens โ€” the magic of increased experimentation, rapid learning, and local-regional-national-global connections. In cultivating and expanding this network together: We catalyze more resources We catalyze and mobilize financial resources โ€” both our own and from others โ€” applying them toward cross-sector and multi-community solutions and innovations. We shift these resources away from traditional systems that only benefit a few, and we move them to collective and collaborative approaches that benefit many. We disrupt traditional philanthropy We demonstrate ways to disrupt and shift traditional philanthropy, moving it from being individualistic and disconnected to being community-centered in addressing root causes of injustice. We are embedded in the communities we serve, co-creating with them for the long-haul, not just in single touch points. We influence change We inspire individual philanthropists to understand the priorities that communities have โ€” and how to strategically partner, fund, and give agency to community leaders in advancing change.
