Nod Makerspace, private company and NGO, is a cultural and creative hub coordinator, established in the former Cotton Factory, Bucharest. Co-created and co-produced since the beginnings, Nod makerspace has been launched in 2015 as the first creative community center of large dimensions in Romania: 2200 sqm of mixed-use areas - makerspace, co-working, events, materials library we developped in a reconverted private, former unused industrial hall. The organisation has developed in time different projects such as: a unique materials library, a makers’ accelerator, educational classes, cultural or design exhibitions and so on. Apart from the specific activities of the creative hub, our organization is also involved in strategic projects for the development of "wastelands" in Bucharest and in the process of developing national cultural policies 2023-2030, on the subject of Creative Cities.

What we do: We rear Black Soldier Fly to produce protein, oil, and fertilizer for the feed and agriculture industries. Throughout the years the Guide gained international success, being currently present in 20 countries over 6 continents. Due to the comparability of the scores between all the Gault&Millau countries as well as the usage of international methodology and standards, the Romanian gastronomy was placed in an international context, while also being promoted to international consumers.

The fast-track executive program has been designed to help ambitious entrepreneurs and managers take their careers to the next level. Beyond Business School launched in September 2023. Bonapp.eco is a Romanian startup that combats food and beauty product waste. The companys app, available on iOS and Android, connects users with local retailers, including grocery stores, restaurants, shops, gas stations, bakeries, coffee shops, hotels, and beauty shops. Through the app, users can purchase products approaching their expiration date, at a 40% to 80% discount. The startup was launched in November 2021. Just two months later, it raised a seed investment of 800,000 EUR to expand beyond Bucharest.
