Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) delivers health care to adults and young people in contact with the forensic mental health and criminal justice systems in NSW, across community, inpatient and custodial settings. Justice Health NSW forms a vital component of the NSW public health system through its support of a highly vulnerable patient population whose health needs are often numerous and more complex than the wider community. Our staff work closely with a number of partner agencies and key stakeholders, including the NSW Ministry of Health, Corrective Services NSW, Juvenile Justice NSW; and other local health districts and specialty networks. We have a workforce of 1470 employees at over 90 locations in metropolitan and regional NSW including medical, dental, nursing, allied health and corporate support staff. Our health community is unique – with many having had minimal contact with mainstream health services in the community. Join our mission to transform lives by delivering healthier tomorrows through excellence in patient centred care.

As the only medical research institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone through innovations in science, education, clinical service, public policy and knowledge translation. Our areas of strength include suicide prevention, digital mental health, workplace mental health, new treatments, and prevention in young people. Our unique translational approach allows us to quickly turn our world-class scientific findings into clinical services, educational programs and e-health products that improve the lives of people with mental illness. We join the dots, connecting research answers, expert knowledge and the voices of lived experience to deliver solutions that work across the health care system for patients and practitioners alike. Our partnerships with people with lived experience, federal, state, and local governments, communities, schools, workplaces, philanthropists, health services, clinicians, and others in the mental health sector enables us to create real-world change.

Odyssey House NSW advocates for a world free of addiction. Odyssey House aims to build safe and healthy communities by minimising the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs on the person’s health and by extension our society. We have a holistic treatment model that focuses on the person and helping them develop skills to cope with the underlying reasons they resorted to alcohol and other drug use. This often involves changing the habits of a lifetime and teaching self-awareness, responsibility, self-care to practical skills that have been missed due to addiction such as numeracy and literacy, life skills such as cooking and eating healthy food, budgeting and parenting. The services we offer include; Odyssey House’s Residential Rehabilitation program is open to anyone suffering from an alcohol and other drug addiction. The program aims to empower individuals and give them the self-confidence to become contributing members of society. Odyssey House’s free Community Services provide treatment, counselling, education, and aftercare support to those who have been affected by alcohol and other drugs. Our non-residential rehabilitation programs are Sydney-wide and either last between 4-8 weeks, or are ongoing. Each program consists of one 1-3 hour class per week. Family Support Programs Problems with alcohol and other drugs affects people from all walks of life, including parents with children. Young people and children are particularly vulnerable to the effects of substance misuse in the home or by a parent. Parental substance misuse may interrupt a child’s normal development, which places them at higher risk of behavioural, emotional, physical and mental health problems. Withdrawal Services Depending on the severity of your withdrawal symptoms, our team will refer you to either our Community Detoxification or Withdrawal Unit Services. You can assess which option is the right one for you by calling us, or inquiring with the form in the bottom left hand corner:
