M18:10 was founded when a young man called Siyabonga Magubane raised his hand and lit a torch for the children of Lakeview, a shanty town outside Lenasia. Not long after we started the build of our first building in Lakeview he was brutally murdered leaving his wife and young child destitute. From his call for help and sacrifice - the “why” to our purposes were gilded. Why? To create a compact of hope and care for the very ones that he saw discarded on the dusty streets of townships in South Africa. M18:10 is derived from a Scripture that calls communities and nations not to despise their children - for their existence and value is known in the heavens.

Originally set up as a modern form of crowd funding, we quickly realised that the concept is far more powerful than any business model.
