Founded in 2000, the Desert Angels is a Tucson-based organization of accredited investors seeking opportunities to invest in regional startups and early-stage companies. We represent a network of over 100 active angel investors, who have since invested $65 million into 165+ portfolio companies and 12 Sidecar funds. We look for early-stage businesses that are prepared to launch with a combination of a qualified team preparing or offering a well-defined product or service that realizes benefit for its target market or problem that is seeking a solution, together with a well-considered go-to-market plan that offers investors a fair return on investment or ROI opportunity.
The Desert Angels have consistently been recognized as one of the most active angel groups in the country and, since 2019 has been ranked #1 in the southwest and #8 in the country according to the 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023 ARI HALO report. The Desert Angels is a charter member of the Angel Capital Association ("ACA"), the trade association of angel investment groups in North America and today represents over 240 angel investor groups and funds. Desert Angels is also a member of the international Keiretsu Syndication Forum.
