The Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) is one of five buffer funds in the Swedish pension system. AP4s mission is through the management of fund capital to maximize shareholder value over time, thus contributing to the stability of the pension system. AP4 has chosen two focus areas: Corporate Governance and Climate & the environment. These areas are chosen because they are considered to be important for return and the performance of all assets in the long term. As of June, 2017 AP4s fund capital amounted to SEK 348 billion. The capital consists of both equities, fixed income, real estate and alternative assets. AP4s work gets positive attention in several different contexts, both in Sweden and internationally. In recent years, AP4 has received numerous international awards and honors. During 2017 AP4 has received AAA-rating from Asset Owners Disclosure Project (AODP) for our efforts on climate risk. AODP also ranks AP4 as number 8 of 500 institutional investors. The staff are AP4s most important resource. Their commitment and expertise are critical success factors for the management of the fund capital. At mid-year 2017, 56 people worked at AP4. Our office is located in central Stockholm. Vacancies are advertised on a regular basis on ap4.se and here on LinkedIn, but you are also welcome to submit a spontaneous application to info@ap4.se. If you are a student and interested in writing your thesis or working extra at AP4, we recommend a visit to ap4.se/student.
