Le laboratoire i3S est une Unité Mixte de Recherche (UMR 7271) entre Université Côte dAzur et le Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Lactivité scientifique du laboratoire est organisée en 4 pôles scientifiques regroupant 12 équipes de recherche (dont 5 sont communes avec lINRIA). - COMmunications, Réseaux, systèmes Embarqués et Distribués - Génie du Logiciel et la Connaissance - Modèles Discrets pour les Systèmes Complexes - Signal, Images et Systèmes Il est composé en majorité d’enseignants-chercheurs de l’UNS (93) dans les sections 27 et 61 du Conseil National des Universités (CNU). Ceux-ci interviennent principalement dans les départements Informatique et Electronique de l’Ecole Polytechnique Universitaire (PolytechNice - Sophia), à lEUR DS4H, ainsi que dans les départements Informatique, Réseaux & Télécommunications, Génie Electrique et Informatique Industrielle de l’IUT. Ils portent dans ces structures d’enseignement de nombreuses responsabilités de filières, de spécialités, d’années de formation ou de départements. Le laboratoire regroupe aussi 18 chercheurs de CNRS Sciences Informatiques en section 06/07 du Comité National de la Recherche Scientifique (CoNRS) et 11 chercheurs Inria, sans oublier des équipes techniques et administratives dévouées, compétentes et efficaces.
