The best ideas come from moments when an entrepreneur experiences a pain point or identifies a need. For African-American, LatinX, and female innovators, finding investors to hear those ideas has been difficult – until now.

Range Networks, the worldwide leader in software-based mobile communications, is driven by a simple mission: to bring mobile communications to the entire world.
More than two billion people lack access to reliable, affordable, mobile phones, particularly in developing countries. Studies have shown repeatedly that mobile service drives GDP and per-capita income growth. Among the benefits, expanding a country’s mobile network creates jobs, expands commerce, and provides millions with access to electronic banking. It has also been shown to improve health care and increase access to education. As a major cloud-computing company recently announced: “Anywhere you have a phone and a tablet [computer], you can now have access to the world banking community.” Range Networks makes mobile service available and affordable to anyone, anywhere around the world.
Today, the 25% of the world who don’t have access to mobile technology no longer need to go without. Although most people can own a mobile phone, the large custom equipment suppliers do not pursue the remote and smaller market segments because the cost of their custom hardware forces them to charge a price the local residents can’t afford. If they charge a lower price, they can’t meet their profit goals. As a result, they focus their efforts on providing the newest service to high-density population centers: the major cities around the world.
Range Networks fundamentally changes this equation. Range software uses inexpensive, off-the-shelf hardware to build a full-featured profitable mobile network, while charging a price that almost any customer can afford.
Our global ecosystem of partners sell, install and support our low-cost, mobile networks. Range is linking mobile networks around the world, with proven results in Mexico, Latin America, Indonesia, Asia, Europe and Africa.

United Villages, a new rural supply company operating in Jaipur in Rajasthan, believes it can fill the gap in rural India's supply chain and get big brands to even the smallest of villages.
The company claims that by combining the use of existing infrastructure with rural marketing and wireless applications, it can turn a $7.4bn opportunity into a rural retail reality.
The company says the concept is simple: field staff take orders from retailers, wire them via a mobile application to a central warehouse, and products are delivered to local corner shops and stores, neatly packed in boxes. This, they say, is modern-day door-to-door service.
There is a growing desire among people in rural India to be part of the country's modernisation process, which includes the provision of modern goods and services.
Experts claim that if mobile technology in rural India remains progressive and accessible, and if supply networks on the ground are built to last, more big brands may find themselves doing big business in places they may not have endeavoured, or thought, to visit before.

POWERED BY POSSIBLE
The world is more fragile than ever. Food shortages have left millions of people hungry, while violent conflict has sent millions on the run. From poverty and malnutrition to natural disasters and climate change, it’s easy to see a world of insurmountable challenges. Instead, we see an opportunity to create transformative change.
We see the world differently.
In crisis, we believe in the power of human potential. In struggle, we believe in the ability of communities to grow stronger.
So we act differently.
We understand that communities are the best agents of their own change and local markets are the best engines of long-term recovery. In more than 40 countries, we partner to put bold solutions into action, helping people triumph over adversity and grow stronger from within. For the refugee who dreams of rebuilding her country, for the mother who wants a healthy future for her children — for millions of people filled with the power of possibility —Mercy Corps connects people to the resources they need to build better, stronger lives.
We create transformative change.
Mercy Corps has responded to nearly every global emergency over the past 20 years.
Since 1979, we have provided $3.7 billion in lifesaving assistance throughout the world. Each year we infuse millions of dollars into local economies through small business loans and grants to provide livelihoods for the world’s most vulnerable people. We are empowering more than 100,000 youth trapped by violent conflict to overcome the profound stress of war and become change makers in their communities.
We are powered by the belief that a better world is possible.
