We focus on acute and orphan diseases because preclinical and clinical development is facilitated, allowing proof of concept (POC) to be provided in humans more quickly. We have selected a lead molecule which is currently under preclinical development to treat acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by anti-cancer treatments (such as cisplatin) and to treat acute liver failure (ALF) induced by paracetamol poisoning.
