Playfinder is the UK’s leading search and booking portal for recreational sports.
The service helps sports players find and book sports facilities across the UK and Ireland. From football pitches to badminton courts, hire facilities for 19 different sports on a huge variety of playing surfaces.
Playfinder was set up in 2014 by passionate sports fans who have struggled over the years to find places to play sport across London.
The site and award-winning app (iOS and Android) allow sports players to find out where their closest sports facilities are and then instantly book online at no extra cost.
Sports facilities can list on the site to make it easier to attract new users. Playfinder offers a simple online booking system allowing customers to easily get in contact for single or block bookings, completely free of charge.
In April 2017, Playfinder launched its first iOS app with features including an interactive map, secure payments and a live bookings calendar. Daily Mirror features Playfinder's app as number one in its 'Best iPhone apps 2018'.
The service is also in Brighton, Dublin, Luton, Leeds, Manchester and selected sports venues across the UK.
Playfinder signed as London FA's official Bookings Partner and for the Middlesex FA to grow participation numbers. The partnership will provide a simple means for London FA’s members to search and book football facilities in London either online or through the app. Playfinder was nominated at the 2019 Yahoo Technology Awards for Best Technology for Participation.
At the start of 2018, Playfinder became the first London-based SportsTech business to raise more than £1 million and Graeme Le Saux joined the board of directors.
Last summer The Football Foundation, the largest sports charity in the UK, teamed up with Playfinder to revolutionise the way grassroots players access football facilities by delivering cutting edge technology to venues around the country.
