TEX! by Marketplace Borås är en plattform för det textila näringslivet i Västsverige. Vårt syfte är att arbeta för att generera affärsnytta för Marketplace Borås medlemmar samt att stärka svenskt mode, textil och design genom att skapa mötesplatser, fysiskt och digitalt där våra medlemmar kan ta del av det senaste inom textil- och mode samt dela erfarenheter med branschkollegor. Vi samarbetar med Sveriges branschorganisationer och företag för att leverera bästa möjliga nytta. Tex! by Marketplace Borås is a plattform for the textile- and fashion industry in West Sweden. Our purpose is to enable business opportunities for our members and thus strengthen Swedish fashion, textiles and design. We do this by creating meeting points, both physical and digital where our members can access the latest industry topics and share experiences and knowledge with industry peers.

I det gamla industriområdet i centrala Borås skapas en mötesplats för kreativa verksamheter inom mode, textil och design: Textile Fashion Center. Ett kreativt centrum för vetenskap, kultur och innovation, främst inom textil och mode men även inom andra områden. Tre parter bildar basen för verksamheten; Borås Stad, Högskolan i Borås och det samlande näringslivet i Boråsregionen. Grundidén bygger på att innovativa processer bäst sker i samspel mellan företag, akademi och samhälle. I Textile Fashion Center ingår en rad självständiga verksamheter som förenas i en klusterbildning. Det är samverkan mellan företag, forskningsinstitut och organisationer som jobbar för innovation och affärsutveckling och högskolan. __________________________________________________________________________________

The University of Borås creates learning, knowledge, and innovation of high quality in an international setting and with great social relevance in collaboration with industry and the public sector. We have around 18 300 students and 822 employees. The university's campus is located right in the city centre. We work together here—for the future and to make a difference! We have many exciting research and education environments within several different areas that have access to unique equipment. Many of the university's research projects and courses are closely tied to the objectives of Agenda 2030. The University of Borås is also home to the Swedish School of Textiles and the Swedish School of Library and Information Science, as well as Science Park Borås, which is a national leader in sustainability and consumption. The textile industry is about to take a giant step from being a supplier of fabrics to become a positive force in the development of society. Textile innovations improve people’s everyday lives and benefit the industry, the healthcare sector and the environment. However, innovations do not spring from nothing. It takes an open environment where people from many different backgrounds are allowed to meet and involve in open-ended communication to find both sought-after and unexpected solutions. Smart Textiles is that innovation environment in Northern Europe. Today, the research community, the business community, institutions and the public sector come together to find the solutions of the future. As the Smart Textiles Initiative offers a complete solution including everything from basic research to prototype development, it is the natural partner for realizing textile ideas or meeting a need with textile technology. With over 500 research and company driven projects since the foundation of the initiative in 2006, Smart Textiles has not only become a motor for the textile industry in Sweden but an important player on the international arena.

Science Park Borås är en fysisk miljö i Textile Fahion Center i centrala Borås. Med en projektarena, Inkubatorn i Borås och ett kontorshotell genom Marketplace Borås skapar vi förutsättningar för utveckling av nya och etablerade företag och för uppkomsten av nya affärsmöjligheter. Science Park Borås tillhandahåller kreativa och innovativa mötesplatser för människor, företag och samhällets aktörer och utgör en central del av det regionala innovationssystemet. Inom våra fokusområden textil, samhällsutveckling och hälsa ska vi som science park vara vara nationellt ledande och internationellt erkänd.
