Immediately, our focus is on idle reduction and route planning - two features that were prioritized based on interviews with farmers. These folks were very concerned with fuel costs of their operation, and these initial features provide the data necessary to save fuel costs on their farms. As we aggregate operational data, we will be able to advise operational patterns on a monthly basis, and capital spending decisions on a year-or-more time horizon. A number of precision agriculture companies are focused on analyzing climate and soil data to advise planting and harvesting decisions, but the equipment domain is currently underserved. The few products that do attempt to address the equipment side of farming are costly and typically specific to a single equipment manufacturer. Farmers we have spoken to have called these solutions over-engineered, and doubt that they are worth their high cost. We will fill this void by offering an affordable and manufacturer-independent tool and prioritizing features based on farmer feedback. We approach our development from the mindset of a farm manager, by spending time in the field and ultimately putting farmers first.
