In 2013 smartphones and tablets users downloaded more than 100Bn Apps for a total bill of almost $60 Billion. By 2020, the number of connected objects will reach or exceed 50Bn units. In our view, personal devices will be at the center of the IoT revolution, representing the easiest way to experience the world and the preferential development platform. Therefore, we believe that a large part of future App will be connected Apps, requiring access to the physical objects and a reference platform.
Nowadays, existing objects are often digitally mute or internally speak all sorts of languages. Current solutions force developers to learn detailed proprietary protocols to manage only one objects at a time. For this reason, there is no simple way to create applications spanning several heterogeneous objects, whether new or existing ones, and therefore there are no basis for the creation of a solid IoT community.
With DQuid, OEMs and Component Suppliers can integrate our reference design, easily making their products digitally fluent and share their objects with communities of developers and makers. Aftermarket integrators and makers can retrofit and connect existing objects in few steps using powerful yet easy to integrate industry grade technologies. Developers can code Apps across multiple objects through semantic APIs available in the most common development environments – iOS, Android, Java.
Our technology is already proven and used in very demanding use-cases.
In the automotive industry our customers include Mobivia Group and Piaggio. Our prospect pipeline includes more automotive OEMs, leading white-appliance manufacturers and key players from many other sectors.

The interaction engineering company.
Founded in 2004, RE:Lab is now a leader in the design, development, and evaluation of Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI).
Starting from scratch or from an existing HMI, our unique approach turns a concept into a working solution, ready to go in production. It’s a process that
we called Interaction Engineering: HMI, from drawing to driving.
The three main pillars of RE:Lab’s Interaction Engineering are: a wide set of HMI services, enabling HMI products, and RE:Search, our research and development unit.
Our company’s culture is User-Centred and User-Experience driven.
From drawing to drive we say, and ready to share the driving with you.
We help machines to help humans.
Our aim is to improve the relationship between people and technologies in order to make the products and services of our customers reach higher levels of quality and competitiveness.
Designers, Human Factor experts, and engineers work side by side to achieve the most suitable interaction with a technological solution – either visual, physical, vocal, or gestural. In doing that, we can count on consolidated expertise in interaction and visual design, ergonomics, and human factors, as well as on SW, FW, and HW development for HMI.
