Idén med att samla och starta en grupp med de bästa bolagen på installationsmarknaden väcktes för ett antal år sedan men det var först under våren 2014 som tankarna gick över till handling. Våren 2014 gick fem bolag samman under namnet Instalco och gruppen var bildad. Sedan dess har gruppen tagit flera steg i utvecklingen. Ytterligare bolag har tillkommit, multidisciplinära projekt har erhållits och samverkat inom teknik, miljö och inköp har initierats.
