We acquire small, typically family-operated, businesses in a variety of industries from founders who are looking to retire or make a career change but want the business they have built to continue thriving. ​We use creative financing solutions, usually with a significant vendor financing component, to ensure continuity of the business, security for existing employees, and a fair return on the founder’s investment. ​Our approach to buying small businesses is collaborative (we partner with the seller), compassionate (we know business transitions are stressful), and creative (we love new ideas). We prefer businesses based in (Western) Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom but we will consider those based elsewhere in Europe and the Americas, provided the geopolitical situation in the area is relatively stable and foreign investors are welcome. While we prefer to acquire a business outright, we are also open to acquiring minority or majority positions with the right partner, especially if the founder or operator wishes to remain involved in the business. Target businesses generate between $300,000 and $2,000,000 in annual revenue, are comfortably profitable and cash flow positive, are owned by someone who will commit to a transitionary period, and will consider a (significant) vendor financing component in a sale.
