Over the past decade, our flagship accelerator program, BGI Accelerator, has helped over 160 startups from 76 countries raise over €300 million. The accelerator is directed at aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators (startups under 5 years old), working on 4 market verticals: 1. Medical Devices & Health IT; 2. Smart cities & Industry 4.0 Solutions; 3. Enterprise IT & Smart Data; 4. Water Economy. Since 2016, BGI has also acted as the local partner of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), being responsible for delivering its acceleration, education and open innovation initiatives in Portugal aimed at different areas of innovation: Digital, Climate, Food, Health, Urban Mobility, Raw Materials and Manufacturing. Alongside this, BGI has also been working as an enabler, developing collaborative innovation and entrepreneurship projects with private companies. Currently, BGI is seeking to focus more and more on new sustainability and agrifood projects, putting innovation and technology at the service of current sustainability challenges. The motto "Sustainable Ventures" signs the shift we are making from pure tech to sustainable & agro tech. For more information visit: https://www.bgi.pt/
