Venture Cup was founded in 1998 on the initiative of McKinsey & Company in collaboration with Chalmers University, the University of Gothenburg, and Innovationsbron. Venture Cup is supported by all major universities in Sweden and operates in partnership with the private and public sectors. Since its inception in 1998, over 18,000 business ideas have competed, and approximately 30 percent of the ideas have turned into businesses.

NyföretagarCentrum är Sveriges ledande skapare av nya livskraftiga företag. NyföretagarCentrum Sverige (Stiftelsen Svenska Jobs and Society) är en stiftelse som främjar nyföretagande och entreprenörskap, och moderorganisation för landets alla NyföretagarCentrum som erbjuder kostnadsfri rådgivning till alla som vill starta eget företag. Senaste året kom nära 16 000 personer till NyföretagarCentrum för rådgivning. Över 8 000 har startat företag. Nu täcker vi över 220 kommuner med rådgivningen och vår målsättning är att bidra till fler livskraftiga företag. Det betyder att de företag som startas är väl förberedda – av dem som startat företag med hjälp av oss har faktiskt färre än 1 procent gått i konkurs efter tre år. Efter tre år är 83 procent av företagen aktiva och har i snitt två anställda.
