We envision a world where we continuously, sustainably, and affordably improve human life with biocatalysis. Our proprietary platform of engineered enzymes and our unique manufacturing approach enables the production of thousands of amino acids that were previously too difficult and expensive to make. Our noncanonical amino acids are catalyzing the creation of revolutionary and innovative products that are good for people and the planet.

Nortis is a privately held Organs-on-Chip company that is revolutionizing traditional drug development and discovery processes. Nortis currently works with biopharma leaders and top academic centers like the University of Washington, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). For more information about Nortis visit www.nortisbio.com.
Organs-on-Chip is a rapidly emerging field in the life sciences market - it covers the engineering of living human tissues within microfluidic devices called chips. Nortis' groundbreaking ParVivo system aims to provide powerful alternatives to the use of laboratory animals in the pharmaceutical industry, academic research and the cosmetics industry. Currently there is a gap between the following: in-vitro modeling, in-vivo testing and clinical results. Two dimensional models do not allow the biology to respond in a manner that it would in-vivo, and animal testing often does not correlate with human responses.
By growing tissue from human organ systems inside small microfluidic chips, researchers and assay developers can conduct in-vitro testing directly on functional human tissues. One example is the proximal tubule of the human kidney, which has been shown in many cases to be more sensitive to drug side effects than animal kidneys. Other tissue models that Nortis and our collaborators have developed on the ParVivo system include brain, heart, liver, immune system, blood vessels, and cancer applications.

Tasso is a fast-growing Seattle-based startup focused on delivering at-home diagnostic testing to those who need it most. We are growing our footprint with leading health systems, clinical research organizations, academic medical centers, and more who are looking to deliver clinical-grade, convenient diagnostic tests to their patients. Tasso was originally founded to find a better way to collect blood instead of a painful fingerstick or time-consuming venous draw. Since then, our products have been used in pharmaceutical clinical trials, by Olympians as part of a new virtual anti-doping program, and broadly by hospital systems across the US.

Founded in 2017, RubrYc Therapeutics, Inc., has created novel computational tools, chemical libraries, and analytics that confer distinct competitive advantages in the discovery of biotherapeutics. Protein interactions are the critical nodes in physiology. RubrYc has invented a unique approach, based on molecular engineering principles, to modulate therapeutically relevant protein interactions using our Interface Discovery Engine™. We integrate massively parallel in silico simulation and empirical analyses of protein structures to address long-standing challenges in biotherapeutic discovery. In therapeutic antibody discovery, epitopes matter. Our platform enables a non-conventional approach that uniquely enriches discovery campaigns with therapeutic antibody candidates that are on target, on epitope, and optimized for the prescribed mode of action. Our unique insights into protein interactions provide unprecedented opportunities to modulate historically challenging protein interactions, and access to emerging/novel targets.
RubrYc Therapeutics emerged as a spin-out from HealthTell, Inc. in April 2018, announcing its rational design approach to biotherapeutic discovery using the Interface Discovery Engine. RubrYc also announced it has partnered with Third Point Ventures, iCarbonX, Paladin Capital, and Vital Venture Capital to to finance launch and initial operations.
