Theranica is a neuromodulation therapeutics company dedicated to creating effective, safe, affordable, and low-side-effect therapies for idiopathic pain conditions. Our initial focus is on migraine, one of the most common neurologic disorders affecting over 1 billion people, with a high prevalence and morbidity, especially among adolescents and females.
The company’s award-winning flagship Nerivio® REN wearable is changing the game for migraine sufferers, especially the 100 million adolescents facing this complex and non-curable disease. Butterfly Medical is a medical-device start-up that aims to improve the standard of care for men suffering from Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate. The company has developed a fast, simple and minimally invasive alternative treatment to first-line BPH medication and surgery.
Butterfly Medical’s patented device can be placed in under 10 minutes, in-office, under local anesthesia, without surgical incision, heating or prostate tissue removal. The device aims to be the only in-office BPH treatment that delivers a long-term, effective solution with minimal side effects, requiring no hospitalization or general anesthesia.
Early results from clinical trials are very promising with blocked prostatic-urethras successfully opened and patients suffering no side effects. Further clinical studies are starting in leading medical centers in Europe.
