The Freedom Fund is a leader in the global movement to end modern slavery. We identify and invest in the most effective frontline efforts to eradicate modern slavery in the countries and sectors where it is most prevalent. Partnering with visionary investors, governments, anti-slavery organisations and those at risk of exploitation, we tackle the systems that allow slavery to persist and thrive. Working together, we protect vulnerable populations, liberate and reintegrate those enslaved and prosecute those responsible. Committed to achieving the greatest impact, the Freedom Fund draws on the investment heritage of our founders, investing in new initiatives and replicating and scaling-up proven programs globally. How we work • We bring a global perspective, to match the scale of the problem with vision and resources. • We invest in best-of-class anti-slavery interventions, scaling those that succeed. • We open-source our knowledge, to encourage best practice and greater collaboration in the sector. • We measure impact, to improve our investment strategy over time. • We align diverse disciplines, to develop more effective approaches to end slavery.

Beyond 12 is a technology-based service nonprofit whose mission is to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who graduate from our nation’s colleges and universities. Through a longitudinal student tracking platform and a personalized student coaching service, we help high schools and colleges provide their students with the academic, social, and emotional support they need to succeed in higher education. By collecting and sharing longitudinal data that crosses the K-12 and higher education systems, Beyond 12 not only provides students with differentiated coaching that ensures they earn a college degree, but we also provide actionable feedback to high schools about their college preparatory efforts, inform the retention work of colleges and universities, and influence the national conversation about student success. Since our founding 7 years ago, we have validated our business model, confirmed that we are solving a meaningful problem, and demonstrated our ability to build a sustainable organization through earned revenue. Today, we have an operating budget of $4.2M, 28 full-time staff, and offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and Atlanta. We are tracking the postsecondary progress of over 40,000 college students and coaching 2,000+ students. Having established a strong initial track record of success and on the heels of receiving national recognition for our innovative approach to addressing the college persistence challenge (Robin Hood College Success Prize finalist, Google Bay Area Impact Challenge winner, Xammy Award for best Social Impact app, one of Fast Company’s top 10 most innovative companies in education), we are well positioned to dramatically scale our efforts.
