uMed combines RWE with the power of patient generated data to address the evidence gaps in life science research. By leveraging uMed’s ACCESS Research Platform which is embedded across a global network of healthcare institutions, researchers can rapidly access and engage with patients to generate insights derived from the decentralised collection of electronic health records, clinical outcomes, patient-reported data and biosamples.

The Future Fertility Trust Programme in Oxford provides hope to young people at high risk of infertility due to their illness or treatment, often patients battling cancer. The FFT was set up in 2013 by a team of doctors and scientists at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust in Collaboration with Oxford University. It provides treatment which includes a comprehensive tissue cryopreservation service for girls and boys alongside a research programme. This provides storage of tissue whilst the young person undergoes the treatment that could potentially jeopardise their future fertility and provides the potential for re-implantation of the tissue at a later point. This invaluable service is the only one of its kind in England and is completely funded by charitable donations. Any amount you can donate will make such a difference and help ensure this service can continue to expand and thrive. As the charitable fund is part of the Oxford Hospitals Charitable Trust all the money goes directly into clinical care and research.
