M2H is an independent game development studio, known for creating innovative multiplayer experiences. Founded in 2009 by Mike Hergaarden, M2H quickly grew into a 50/50 partnership with his brother Matt Hergaarden by 2011. The studio gained recognition with browser-based and mobile games before expanding into larger projects like Crash Drive and the critically acclaimed WW1 Game Series (Verdun, Tannenberg, Isonzo). With a strong focus on multiplayer innovation, emergent gameplay, and technical excellence, M2H became a respected name in the indie game industry. The studio co-founded and developed the WW1 Game Series, which was later sold to Focus Entertainment in 2022, marking a major milestone in M2H’s journey. Today, M2H operates 100% remotely, with a flexible team of skilled freelancers and external partners assembled to fit each project’s needs. This agile, scalable approach allows M2H to continue delivering high-quality multiplayer experiences, staying independent while pushing creative and technical boundaries. Led by Mike Hergaarden, M2H remains committed to fresh, engaging game design and excellent (multiplayer) tech, always looking for new ways to innovate in the indie space.
