Liquid Light develops and licenses process technology to make major chemicals from low-cost, globally abundant carbon dioxide. Customers profit from a lower cost of production, while harnessing their current waste stream; reduce their dependence on cyclically-priced petroleum feedstocks; and can reduce their carbon footprint.
Liquid Light's first process is for the production of ethylene glycol (MEG), with a $27 billion annual market. Results consistent with cost-advantaged production have been validated at lab scale for key parts of our process; and the process scales in a predictable manner, akin to world-scale chlor-alkali plants.
Liquid Light's core technology is centered on low-energy catalytic electrochemistry to convert carbon dioxide to multi-carbon chemicals. It is backed by over 100 patents and applications, and extends to multiple chemicals with large existing markets, including ethylene glycol, propylene, isopropanol, and acetic acid.
The company is headquartered in New Jersey. Our core technology team comes from DARPA, DOE, Berkeley, and Princeton. We also have the support of board members and advisers from the mainstream chemical industry, and leading experts in catalysis and carbon dioxide utilization.
Liquid Light’s investors include VantagePoint Capital Partners, BP Ventures, Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, Sustainable Conversion Ventures, and Osage University Partners.

H2scan was founded in 2002 and has its headquarters, sales, production, and marketing staff in Valencia, California. The Company provides the most accurate, tolerant, and affordable hydrogen leak detection and process gas monitoring solutions for industrial markets enabling accurate monitoring and control functions for a wide range of applications, including control systems, safety monitoring and alarm systems. H2scan also provides portable, handheld configurations for easy leak detection and monitoring.
H2scans hydrogen specific sensing systems based on a patented "Chip on a flex" technology are able to detect and measure hydrogen without false readings or expensive support equipment required. This makes it ideal for the NeSSI™ platform. H2scan’s process systems have the ability to operate in real-time, with or without the presence of oxygen, no interference from CO or H2S, separating H2scan from all other in-line measuring technologies. The leak detector sensing systems are able to detect hydrogen in air down to 15 ppm concentration without cross-sensitivities to other gases.
The company’s solid-state technology was originated at Sandia National Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy and is only available commercially through H2scan. Its products are sold in over 50 countries worldwide. For more information, please visit www.h2scan.com.
