The idea for Hatch was conceived in late 2017 by co-founders Carsten Krome, Georg Baunach and Wayne Murphy. Hatch Blue is a global investment firm specializing in aquaculture, integrating investing, consulting, and innovation programs to build and accelerate the sector. Our vision is to achieve the least-possible footprint of farmed and alternative seafood for the benefit of the oceans, terrestrial ecosystems and future generations. After 8 years in operation, Hatch has invested in more than 65 companies, run multiple accelerator programs, and raised a first US $8M fund and the $93M Blue Revolution Fund. Headquartered in Ireland with additional presence in Norway, Germany, and Singapore, the team combines early-stage investments, consulting, and accelerator programs to support founders and companies across the seafood value chain.

A Fisher Piscicultura SA foi criada em agosto de 2011 com foco na realização de investimentos em piscicultura, tendo em vista a experiência dos membros da equipe tanto na concepção, implantação e operação de Unidade Integrada de Produção, quanto em técnicas de administração e gestão de projetos. No segundo semestre de 2012, a Fisher iniciou os estudos para desenvolvimento do projeto do TRGV – Tanque Rede de Grande Volume, visando o ganho de escala na atividade de piscicultura e a correção das deficiências dos equipamentos importados para a realidade brasileira. O TRGV, inovação criada pela Fisher, teve seu projeto básico finalizado em abril 2013 e o pedido de patente foi protocolado em julho 2013 sob o número BR 10 2013 018094. Em outubro de 2013, o projeto executivo foi finalizado e em dezembro iniciou-se a construção do protótipo, finalizada em julho de 2014. Todo o desenvolvimento de P, D & I relativo ao TRGV foi custeado com recursos próprios. Nossa missão é produzir e comercializar produtos de peixe com elevado padrão de qualidade, de maneira rentável e segura, com responsabilidade social e ambiental gerando desenvolvimento nos mercados onde atua. Indian Ocean Trepang (IOT) is a SME, located in Tulear, South-West Madagascar, specialized in sandfish sea cucumber farming (Holothuria scabra species). It is one of the few fully integrated Holothuria scabra sea cucumber aquaculture companies (with a hatchery, nursery, grow-out sea pens and processing factory). Thanks to long-time partnerships with universities, IOT enjoys the use of an in-vitro reproduction patent for all year-round reproductions. In addition to its own operations, IOT supplies - under a buy-back program and in partnership with NGOs - juvenile sea cucumbers to “fishermen turned farmers” to grow them to adult size, thus creating an alternative income to fishermen in isolated communities facing wild fisheries depletion. Sea cucumbers are deposit feeders, they feed on the seabed sediments; we do not provide any food. They reach maturity in their natural habitat (coastal tidal basin) thus contributing to restoring the coastal marine area health and integrity. Alternatively, they can also be grown in shrimp ponds aquaculture farms for bio-remediation, or at idle shrimp farms not in production any more due to disease (e.g. white spot virus) or other challenges. IOT's vision is to replicate our business model in the Indian Ocean. Our vision is, in 10 years from now, to have 10 operations impacting the lives of 10,000 families.
