The Power Plant is Canada’s leading public gallery devoted exclusively to contemporary visual art. It is a vital forum for the advanced artistic culture of our time that offers an exceptional facility and professional support to diverse living artists while engaging equally diverse audiences in their work. The Power Plant pursues its activities though exhibitions, publications and public programming. It fulfills its mandate by generating: exhibitions that represent the range of advanced practice in visual arts; publications that increase knowledge of contemporary art; lectures and symposia that encourage debate and further understanding; interpretative tools that invite visitors to question, explore and reflect upon their experiences; programming that incorporates other areas of culture when they intersect with visual art.

The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) is Ontario’s leading law reform agency. The LCO provides independent, balanced and authoritative advice on complex legal policy issues. Our work promotes access to justice and contributes to public debate. The LCO was originally established by Agreement dated July 6, 2007, and subsequently renewed for five years from January 1, 2012 to December 1, 2016, and renewed for a further five years from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2021. Through this partnership, the Law Commission of Ontario has a mandate to make recommendations to: - Make the legal system more relevant, accessible and efficient - Simplify or clarify the law - Use technology to increase access to justice - Stimulate critical debate about law, and - Promote scholarly legal research We approach law reform as an activity that is centered on law, but that must involve multidisciplinary analysis and recommendations. Although we research focused areas of law, many of our major projects involve large social questions. This requires research using a combination of non-legal disciplines to complete the story – social, economic and, psychological, for example – because only then will we truly understand the impact of law on those affected. Our multidisciplinary approach helps us to provide context and: - Look beyond individual laws to analyze the broader social issues themselves - Consider how Ontario laws impact those affected by these social issues - Make recommendations to change these laws to better serve Ontarians For more information on our current projects, please visit our website.

BookNet Canada is a non-profit organization that develops technology, standards, and education to serve the Canadian book industry. Founded in 2002 to address systemic challenges in the industry, BookNet Canada supports publishing companies, booksellers, wholesalers, distributors, sales agents, and libraries across the country. BookNet Canada acknowledges that its operations are remote and our colleagues contribute their work from the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Ojibwa of Fort William First Nation, the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, the Wyandot, the Mi’kmaq, and the Métis, the original nations and peoples of the lands we now call Beeton, Brampton, Guelph, Halifax, Thunder Bay, Toronto, and Vaughan. We endorse the Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and support an ongoing shift from gatekeeping to spacemaking in the book industry.
