The mission of The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is to be a year-round regional cultural resource, engaging, inspiring, and enriching audiences of all ages and cultures by offering performances of the highest professional quality. The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is the only resident, full-sized professional orchestra with a chorus in Santa Fe and plays a leading role in the presentation of classical music and employing Santa Fe and New Mexico professional musicians and singers in their home state. Our musicians perform year-round, bringing classical music to residents and visitors, not only during our regularly scheduled concerts at The Lensic but to senior living centers and branch libraries in ensemble form and to the Santa Fe Public Schools via free private music lessons and mentoring. Every year, in conjunction with the SF Public School's PASS Program (Performing Arts for Students' Success), The Symphony presents two concerts at The Lensic for all area fourth graders. Students also attend from nearby communities, such as Pojoaque, Pecos, Espanola and Pueblo schools. The Symphony also offers two free community concerts a year at St. Francis Cathedral.
