The Swedish National Advisory Board for Impact Investing is an open, not-for-profit membership association whose objective is to promote, stimulate and mobilize private, institutional and non-governmental funding of solutions to societal challenges. Our firm belief is that public funding alone will not be sufficient to halt climate change, reduce pollution and minimize exclusion and illness. We need more innovative solutions, delivered by entrepreneurial and financially sustainable organizations funded by capital outside of the public tax system and with new payment models for outcomes. This is what is called impact investment. Impact investment optimizes risk, return and impact to benefit people and the planet. It does so by setting specific social and environmental objectives alongside financial ones, and measuring their achievement. Our members are from the public sector, from academia, from the capital markets, impact investors, philanthropists, advisors, accelerators, intermediaries, not-for-profit organisations, impact entrepreneurs and social enterprises. We work to make sure that the impact economy becomes a strong contributor in the welfare state 2.0 and that sufficient capital is directed to entrepreneurial efforts addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Agenda 2030. The Swedish National Advisory Board for Impact Investing is currently in the process of applying for membership to become one of 22 National Advisory Boards around the world connected to the Global Steering Group for Impact Investment.
