Neàpolis es "el espacio de la tecnologia y las ideas"​, desde el cual el Ayuntamiento de Vilanova i la Geltrú da soporte a la investigación y al desarrollo tecnológico y económico de la ciudad. El objetivo principal de Neàpolis, que consta de 8.000 metros cuadrados, es dotar a la ciudad de infrestructuras i servicios de primer nivel: así pues, convertir a Vilanova i la Geltrú en una ciudad competitiva, un espacio idóneo para los ciudadanos emprendedores, las empresas y los nuevos profesionales. Este objetivo se hace expansible, de esta manera, a toda la comarca del Garraf y, finalmente, a toda la geografía del país. Con esta finalidad, Neàpolis da soporte a la implantación de redes de acceso, potencia los estudios universitarios ubicados en la ciudad y propone otras ofertas formativas. También genera nuevos grupos de investigación y desarrollo, a través de la promoción de actividades económicas y propuestas tecnológicas innovadoras. Neàpolis, pretende además convertirse en un referente constante en el ámbito catalán en la creación de contenidos audiovisuales, interactivos para y al servicio de los ciudadanos. Actualmente, Neàpolis lleva a cabo diversos proyectos relacionados con la salud y la dependencia, colaborando conjuntamente con otras comunidades y organismos a nivel europeo, como miembro del Living LABs.
