We are engineers, designers, binge-watchers. We believe wifi is at the heart of the home experience, which means it should be the best and most reliable it can be. At eero, we’re determined to create a product that’s not only better, different, (dare we say) disruptive, but a product that feels as human as its users. It’s our sweat-the-details, forward-thinking mentality that’s gotten us to today — but our ambitions are far greater. Think you’re up for the challenge? Placemeter uses public video feeds and computer vision algorithms to create a real time data layer about places, streets, and neighborhoods. We use computer vision at a massive scale, on a large number of rich and ubiquitous video feeds, to understand what is going in in the physical world in real time. We measure how busy places are, what people do, how fast cars go, and much more. We offer that data to developers, citizens, cities, and retailers, radically changing the way they interact with the physical world. Placemeter is a TechStars NY Spring 2013 company, the winner of the 2013 WebSummit startup competition, and recently graduated from the New York Times TimeSpace program. We're backed by NEA, Triplepoint Capital and a few other investors and were recently selected as a Time Inc. Top 10 NYC Startups. Working at Placemeter Team At Placemeter our mission is to make cities better. With that in mind, we hire from all different backgrounds. Our dynamic team includes former urban planners, Bloomberg City Hall staffers, Googlers, engineers, graphic designers, and a lot of people passionate by leveraging technology to build better cities. Office Our HQ is located in the trendy SoHo neighborhood of downtown Manhattan, and features an open loft-style space with high ceilings flooded with natural light. Each employee chooses their own custom computer and desk setup. Perks Our founders, Alex and Florent, believe that hard work should be rewarded and lead the office in weekly team lunches, monthly happy hours, and an annual off-site (last one was at the beach in Montauk). Brooklyn roasted artisanal coffee brews all day and we always have healthy office snacks on hand yet very often sweet treats appear in the kitchen. The team enjoys a competitive, yet healthy, FIFA habit on our PS4. Benefits We have a generous four week vacation policy and top-tier health insurance options.

At Lytro, we believe that Light Field will continue to shape the course of Virtual and Augmented Reality, and we’re incredibly proud of the role we’ve been able to play in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We’ve uncovered challenges we never dreamed of and made breakthroughs at a seemingly impossible pace. We’ve had some spectacular successes, and built entire systems that no one thought possible. More importantly, we built a team that was singularly unified in its focus and unrivaled in its dedication. It has been an honor and a pleasure to contribute to the cinema and Virtual Reality communities, but starting March 2018 we will not be taking on new productions or providing professional services as we prepare to wind down the company. We’re excited to see what new opportunities the future brings for the Lytro team as we go our separate ways. We would like to thank the various communities that have supported us and hope that our paths will cross in the future. Lytro was founded in 2006 by Executive Chairman Ren Ng, whose Ph.D. research on Light Field imaging won Stanford University’s prize for best thesis in computer science. In late 2015, Lytro announced the worlds first Light Field solution for Virtual Reality (VR), Lytro Immerge, that was quickly followed by the 2016 launch of Lytro Cinema, the worlds first Light Field capture system for cinematic content. With these products, Lytro pioneered the generational shift from legacy 2D imaging to 3D volumetric video.
