Sophiahemmet är en av Sveriges första skolor för utbildning av sjuksköterskor. Skolan skapades av Drottning Sophia och Konung Oscar II 1883 och det anknutna sjukhuset 1889. Sophiahemmet, ideell förening bedriver fortfarande såväl utbildning som vård i egna vackert belägna lokaler i centrala Stockholm. Sophiahemmet erbjuder sina tjänster till såväl privatpersoner som företag men också till den offentliga sjukvården, som i stor utsträckning efterfrågar våra tjänster. En god omvårdnad med det personliga omhändertagandet i centrum är Sophiahemmets kännemärke. Vårdbolaget är icke vinstutdelande. Rörelseöverskott återinvesteras i vidareutveckling av verksamheten. Föreningen stöder också patientnära forskning främst vid den egna högskolan och det egna sjukhuset. En kontinuerlig utveckling, anpassad till medicinska framsteg och till moderna människors krav, innebär att verksamheten hela tiden förändras.
