Nhemu is a startup which aimed to improve the shopping experience for brazilian internet users and contribute to the development of the e-commerce market in Brazil. Nhemu was created with cooperation of researchers from Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) and Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) The creators of Nhemu has international academic recognition for producing knowledge, methods and algorithms for web informations systems, generating solutions that are in the state of art. Besides, the group involved in the development of the system has a large experience in the technology creation, such as those used by Miner Technology Group, created in 1998 and sold to the Folha de São Paulo/UOL n 1999; Akwan Information Technologies, created in 2000 and sold to Google Inc. in 2005. The Akwan was responsible for the technology used on search engines of IG, UOL and Ibest websites, dominating a good part of the search engine market in Brazil with systems used by millions of people.
