AMSA (Asset Management Study Association) is the Erasmus Universitys student based organisation in the field of asset management. By completing research projects with some of Europes most accredited asset management firms, developing high quality reports, and hosting various educational events, AMSA aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice. In fact, we believe that all students should be able to learn about asset management and gain an entrance point to the financial world. We are located in Rotterdam, Netherlands at Erasmus University.

Be it the investments we make, the lessons we learn or the friendships we create. Last year’s third place in the investment competition was a great achievement, but we always want to continue improving. Our main objective is therefore threefold: we strive to win the investment competition while having fun and learning as much as possible along the way. Our history is encapsulated in our motto: Passion Yields Results. We are indeed convinced that passion and motivation are the fundamental ingredients needed for success; and we have already demonstrated this belief in the past. While our history is still in its infancy, being founded in 2013, we are proud of our achievements. For example, we managed to attain third place in both the Optiver (2013), and the Flow Traders (2016) investing competitions. While third is good, it is not great, so we will strive for even greater achievements in the future. At Midas Investments we share a passion for investing, but are very diverse otherwise. We embrace this diversity and therefore welcome any type of student to join our ranks. However, we do expect our members to be committed in order to move our group forward. B&R Beurs, the student investment society at Erasmus University Rotterdam, is dedicated to educating members about investing. Through our B&R Beurs Academy, led by experienced members and guest lecturers, newcomers delve into the financial world. Additional learning opportunities include readings, workshops, classes, guest speakers, and company visits, culminating in the coveted B&R Beurs Investor Certificate. The Flow Traders Investment Competition, where real money is invested in groups of twelve to thirty-five students, is a highlight, with each member contributing between €200 and €400. Alongside our core investment activities, we offer a range of enjoyable events such as social gatherings, poker tournaments, city trips, and tastings. Our diverse membership includes near-professional investors and those with a basic interest in investing, representing various disciplines including economics, finance, business administration, law, and public administration. Regardless of background, members find ample opportunities for engagement, idea-sharing, and learning within our community. Upon joining B&R Beurs, members can expect a vibrant calendar of events, starting with introductory drinks and the Introduction Weekend in September, where new and existing members bond. October sees group formation dinners before investment activities commence in November. Throughout the year, our B&R Beurs Academies cover fundamental investing principles before delving into advanced topics, ensuring members stay informed with the latest knowledge from industry experts. In addition to social and educational events, investment groups meet regularly, fostering collaboration and learning. B&R Beurs provides a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in investing, offering an experience unmatched by other associations or courses at Erasmus University. The combination of the Investment Competition and passionate members creates a dynamic atmosphere within the society.
