Energi2050 develops Norways national research and innovation strategy within low-emission energy, petroleum, CO2 management and seabed minerals. We have our mandate from the Norwegian Ministry of Energy. Energi2050 is driven by: increased value creation from Norwegian energy resources; safe, efficient and sustainable resource utilization; improving energy security; and protecting the climate, nature and the environment.

Maritime CleanTech represents one of the world’s most complete maritime commercial hubs. Our cluster organisation uses the Norwegian maritime expertise, built up over generations, as a springboard for the development of new energy-efficient and environmental friendly technologies. We have more than 150 partners who cover every stage of the maritime value chain: from design and engineering companies, yards, shipping companies, equipment and service providers; to R&D, suppliers of renewable energy, Finance institutions, classification companies and the public sector. We focus on sustainable innovation projects with commercial potential, where representatives from different companies, institutions and sectors together develops and launches new clean maritime solutions.

NORA – The Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium – aims to strengthen Norwegian research and education within artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics, as well as other relevant research that supports the development of artificial intelligence applications. NORA shall contribute in developing joint research projects between partners, NORA will take an active part in establishing start-up companies in the artificial intelligence field, as well as strengthening the collaboration between the consortium partners'​ research communities and the business community. The consortium will further contribute to positioning Norwegian research in artificial intelligence on the international arena and have a special responsibility for developing activities aimed at Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. In addition, the consortium will create meeting places and host various events for researchers and students. The NORA consortium was established 21 November 2018. The consortium consists of the following partners: the University of Agder, the University of Tromsø – The Arctic University of Norway, OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University, University of Bergen, the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Simula Research Laboratory AS, NORCE Norwegian Research Centre AS, the University of Oslo and the University of Stavanger. DrillWell's objective is to improve drilling and well technology providing improved safety for people and the environment and value creation through better resource development, improved efficiency in operations and reduced cost. The vision of the Drilling and Well Centre for Improved Recovery is to unlock petroleum resources through better drilling and well technology. The Drilling and Well Centre for Improved Recovery was established in 2010 and received status as a Centre for Research Based Innovation (SFI) from the Research Council of Norway in 2011. DrillWell’s objective is to improve drilling and well technology, providing improved safety for people and the environment, and value creation through better resource development, improved operational efficiency and reduced costs. This will be achieved by targeted research and development, focusing on: Safe and efficient drilling process Drilling solutions for improved recovery Well solutions for improved recovery The centre focuses on environmentally friendly solutions in the R&D and innovative technology development. It will integrate master and doctorate students in the research activities and also provide continuous competence development for oil company staff in collaboration with oil companies. The developed technology and solutions will be commercially available in the market through cooperation with the service industry. The centre is living proof of Trondheim and Stavanger joining forces together with the international oil and gas industry. The R&D partners in the centre are IRIS, the University of Stavanger, SINTEF and NTNU. The partners have a total staff of 310 scientists and a R&D volume of approx NOK 500 million/year within oil and gas. The centre was established in 2010, and was appointed status as Centre for Research Based Innovation (SFI) by the Research Council of Norway in 2011.

TØI driver uavhengig, anvendt forskning og samarbeider tett med myndigheter, næringsliv og forskningsmiljøer for å sikre at forskningsresultatene tas i bruk i praksis. Instituttet ble etablert i 1964 og har siden 1986 vært en selvstendig stiftelse. TØI mottar basisbevilgning fra Norges forskningsråd. The Institute of Transport Economics (Transportøkonomisk institutt –TØI) is a national, Norwegian institution for multidisciplinary transport research. Its mission is to develop and disseminate transportation knowledge of scientific quality and practical application.The Institute is an independent, non-profit research foundation. It holds no interests in any commercial, manufacturing or supplying organisation. TØI has a multidisciplinary research environment with approximately 100 employees, of which about 90 are researchers. The Institute will normally have at least 200 research projects in progress at any one time, most of them being commissioned. Its sphere of activity includes most of the current issues in road, rail, sea and air transport, as well as urban mobility, environmental sustainability, ITS and road safety. In recent years the Institute has been engaged in more than 70 research projects under EU´s Research Framework Programmes.

NTVA er en arena for faktabasert debatt om naturvitenskapens og teknologiens betydning for norsk verdiskaping og en bærekraftig samfunnsutvikling. NTVA er en uavhengig organisasjon som ble stiftet i 1955 av personer i fagmiljøene ved Norges Tekniske Høgskole, NTH, i Trondheim. NTH var forløperen til NTNU.
