We focus on product development and applied biomedical/clinical research in the field of wearable electro-medical devices for percutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation. We develop innovative therapies for personalized pain management based on electrical stimulation. The targeted stimulation modulates sensory fibers of the vagus nerve in the ear. This minimal-invasive pain therapy has successfully been proven its clinical efficacy and effectiveness. Auricular vagus nerve stimulation is a non-pharmacological pain treatment with sustainable effects. Our highly innovative concept of stimulation allows for an optimized and individual therapy even for otherwise treatment resistant patients.

Gedea Biotech developes pHyph to treat and prevent recurrence of bacterial vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a very common condition with a prevalence of 10-30% for women of childbearing age. The symptoms can very disturbing and include an often profuse thin, white, “fishy” smelling vaginal discharge, in the absence of itching. Standard treatment consists of antimicrobials, but recurrence rate is15–30 % within 3 months. pHyph will treat the infection and prevent recurrence without the use of antmicrobials. Antimicrobial resistance is one of the World Health Organisation’s top ten threats to global health in 2021 and research into novel non-antimicrobial based treatments is timely.
