The purpose of the Economics Investment Committee entity within the Michigan Economics Society is to provide economics students with the opportunity to learn more about stocks, investing, and portfolio management in an interactive and hands-on environment. EIC allows students to explore different career paths ranging from commodities trading to diversified portfolio management and apply economic principles and theory to real life. The group currently has 22 active members who participate in weekly meetings to analyze market trends, evaluate geopolitical and macroeconomic events, and pitch stocks to be added to EIC portfolio.
