Dig Energy develops purpose-built drilling technology to make highly-efficient geothermal heating and cooling systems cost competitive with fossil fuels. Heating and cooling account for 35% of all energy consumption, largely powered by oil and gas today. Geothermal heat pumps are the most energy-efficient HVAC solution available, but adoption is limited by drilling expense and cumbersome equipment. Dig’s compact, mobile drill reduces costs by 80% and promises to dramatically increase adoption worldwide. Learn more at https://dig.energy/.

Vestas mission is to further the science of Coastal Carbon Capture and galvanize global deployment. Coastal Carbon Capture harnesses the power of the oceans to accelerate the Earths natural long-term carbon dioxide removal process and enhance coastal resilience. Vesta is a Public Benefit Corporation, a mission-driven company dedicated to leaving a world in which all can thrive. Part of the funding for our scientific research is from the Coastal Carbon Capture Impact Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity.

Muon Vision is on a mission to significantly boost the efficiency, safety and sustainability of minerals processing for critical metals. Our technology provides a passive, non-invasive X-ray imaging technology that can be used to i) visualize the percolation of process fluids across leaching heaps at scale; ii) monitor the stability of dams, heaps, mining assets; iii) other industrial and mining applications where density measurements are of key importance to improve safety and productivity.

Tynt is developing the next generation of smart windows, based on our proprietary reversible metal electrodeposition technology. For the first time, consumers will have perfectly neutral color and 100% blackout/privacy in the dark state, all for a cost similar to adding conventional window treatments.

Powering the future with the Earth’s hidden heat. Geothermal is carbon-free, always-on power but most of the world’s geothermal resources remain undiscovered and undeveloped. Zanskar is changing that. We take a AI and data-driven, scalable approach to geothermal discovery and development combining modern geoscience and advanced field methods to identify and tap into overlooked or underutilized geothermal resources. By making geothermal faster and more predictable to develop, we’re unlocking its potential to deliver gigawatts of clean, firm energy and to become a cornerstone of our future energy system.

Sublime is developing a breakthrough process to make low-carbon cement. The technology replaces the industrys legacy fossil-fuel-intensive thermal calciner process with an electrochemical process that produces low-carbon cement at ambient temperatures with renewable electricity. Sublime was started in 2020, as a spin-out of Yet-Ming Chiangs lab at MIT (Form Energy, A123, American Superconductor, 24M, Desktop Metals).

Verdox is making scalable, cost-effective carbon capture and removal a reality. Founded in late 2019 by Dr. Brian Baynes, Prof. T. Alan Hatton, and Dr. Sahag Voskian, the company is commercializing its electroswing adsorption (ESA) platform technology, originally developed at MIT, to remove carbon dioxide from industrial emissions and the air with 70% energy savings versus conventional approaches.

The MicroByre team makes pets out of bacteria. The vast majority of prokaryotes on the planet are not currently considered cultivable, let alone genetically modifiable. MicroByre domesticates and then genetically engineers otherwise reluctant, recalcitrant, and rebellious bacteria. We get them to eat out of our hands. With friends like these, who needs petroleum? Newly cooperative bacteria will help us replace ancient biomass (petrochemicals) with renewable biomass (lawn clippings) efficiently and economically. This isn’t the synthetic biology you’ve read about. We don’t do Escherichia coli and we don’t do Saccharomyces cerevisiae. We don’t do gene circuits and we don’t do heterologous expression. We engineer naturally cool but standoffish bacteria to be cooperative, and thus even cooler. Diversity is strength. We take a lesson from the study of ecology: it takes a lot of different kinds of skills working together with mutual respect to make a dent in the world. We are committed to a maintaining a work environment free of harassment and discrimination. All recruitment, salary, & promotion decisions are based on business need, qualification, and job requirements with no regard to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, family or parental status, veteran or disability status, religion or belief, or age.

C-Motives mission is to create electric machines that directly lead to reduced carbon emissions through higher efficiency renewable generators applicable to the next generation of e-mobility vehicles and more efficient industrial torque motors. C-Motives unmatched torque, efficiency, and simplicity will lead to a new generation of applications that create more renewable power and waste less electricity. C-Motives motors run on the principle of electrostatic forces, also known as "static cling," and stands to change the machines that shape and run our lives. Our motors produce torque by the same principle of rubbing a balloon on a head of hair. And just like hair doesnt heat up with the balloon, our motors produce torque with nearly zero loss, versus using copper coils wound around steel with rare earth permanent magnets.
