Were a values-driven firm focused on investing in innovative high-growth potential B2B companies from Western Australia, South Australia, and Queensland, giving LPs access to the undiscovered gems in these markets. WHY EASTEND? Eastend places a premium on capital preservation, choosing to invest in innovation companies with proven growth potential rather than speculating on ‘startups’. The firm is committed to investing in businesses with substance, emphasising customer delight and sustainable revenue growth over transient valuation spikes and continuous capital raises. This usually favours mature and experienced founders who are experts in their fields. Clear liquidity prospects are the highest priority, and decisions are informed by rigorous data analysis and a disciplined, process-driven methodology to ensure that each investment is a step towards collective success. FOUNDING TEAM Josh Garratt, Co-founder of Southern Angels and recipient of the 2023 Australian Angel Investor of the Year award, has an impressive track record of facilitating investment, driving commercialisation and nurturing early-stage tech companies. Co-founder JD Sheard was recognised under the global talent program for his exceptional achievements internationally and relocated to Adelaide in 2021. Here, he founded Virtca Capital and executed his first fund (‘Fund 0’), deploying $3 million into early-stage companies, marking a strategic foray into fostering innovation in Australia. THE FUND Our first fund, Eastend Ventures Fund 1, is open for investment. It is a registered Early Stage Venture Capital Limited Partnership (ESVCLP).
