Depuis plus de 30 ans Aviation Sans Frontières conduit des missions humanitaires auprès des plus démunis au cœur des pays en voie de développement. Reconnue d’utilité publique et partenaire du Conseil économique et social des Nations Unies, ASF met ses moyens matériels, le professionnalisme et les compétences aéronautiques de ses membres au service de causes humanitaires à travers plusieurs actions : - Les missions avions. Trois avions Cessna Caravan basés en Afrique, permettent l’acheminement de l’aide humanitaire, les évacuations sanitaires d’urgence et un appui logistique à plus de 180 associations et ONG. Parmi elles, la FAO, le PAM, l’UNICEF, l’OMS… Seule association au monde à détenir le Certificat de Transport Aérien comme toute compagnie aérienne, ASF atteste de sa capacité technique à assurer des vols en toute sécurité - Les accompagnements d’enfants en urgence de soins, inopérables dans leur pays d’origine. Transportés sur des vols réguliers par des bénévoles bénéficiant de billets à bas prix, ces enfants peuvent être soignés dans des hôpitaux français et européens puis être ramenés auprès de leur famille - Les convoyages de réfugiés. L’Organisation internationale pour les migrations, qui travaille en étroite collaboration avec le HCR, délègue depuis plusieurs années certains convoyages à ASF - La messagerie médicale et le fret humanitaire. Produits pharmaceutiques, aide d’urgence ou matériel chirurgical sont expédiés quotidiennement vers des dispensaires, des orphelinats ou des léproseries - Les opérations en France où, en coopération avec 21 aéro-clubs, ASF offre la possibilité à des enfants et adolescents socialement isolés ou à des jeunes handicapés de voler (les Ailes du Sourire) ou de découvrir les métiers de l’aérien grâce à un outil informatique spécifique (e-aviation).
