At the same time, we buy fresh greens from exotic countries, where production is cheap and the season is convenient, which subsequently contributes to overconsumption and food waste. Rethinking production methods of producing nutritional, and protein rich food is critical as the world’s population is fast-growing, and we face big global challenges to the health of our planet. Producing more food locally, and in cities is one of the ways we can make a positive impact. Shorter distances to the end consumer means more nutritional food and less waste. Production and demand can be more accurate and thereby, decrease overproduction and overconsumption. Transportation can be done in a more eco-friendly way, with less packaging and pollution, and it can be done without the need for new fertile land. Nabo Farm want’s to empower this new generation of urban farmers by making the necessary tools to get started: accessible, affordable and easy to use. Nabo Farm offers a total solution for both new and experienced farmers to operate a successful and profitable urban farm. Besides tested business models, Nabo Farms current solution consists of hardware for building indoor food production, an online cultivation management platform (CMP), an ERP platform for making better business decisions, alongside the Nabo Farm HUB an IoT platform for monitoring and automating daily operations.
