Asia, home to 62% of the world’s growing muslim population, is about to enter its golden age. While the decade is off to a bumpy start because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the region is on the brink of a new era - one that holds promise of economic growth and technological innovation. The Asian consumer market has seen the rise of the global Halal industry. This Global Halal industry spending reflects a healthy 5.2% year-on-year growth and is forecasted to reach US$3.2 trillion by 2024 at a Cumulative Annual Growth Rate (“CAGR”) of 6.2% (SGIE report 2019/2020), making it one of the fastest-growing consumer segments in the world. Southeast Asia is ripe for disruption, further linking to reciprocal relationships and a global ecosystem powered by technology. The youthful and productive workforce is eager for new technology, experiences, and opportunities. Additionally, Southeast Asians gain exponentially higher discretionary income, creating an opportunity for businesses looking to scale. At Reimagine: Halal in Asia 2020, we invite all brands to participate in this fast-growing economy. This event is jointly launched by CollabDeen, a remote community collaboration Mobile platform, and Have Halal, Will Travel, a global travel and lifestyle platform for Muslims. This year, the prestigious State of Global Islamic Economy Report 2020/21 will be launched from Singapore at Reimagine: Halal in Asia 2020. While Singapore is a non-Muslim majority country, the country has the infrastructure and the political will to be a significant player in the Islamic economy. We aim to debunk the perceived high barriers to entry and welcome all participants, regardless of faith, to pursue this fast-growing Muslim market.
