Licious began in 2015 when Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta set out to transform a $55Bn category that was largely unbranded, inconsistent, and untouched by modern food standards. Their vision was simple - bring honesty, hygiene, and joy to meat and seafood buying in India. What followed was a category-defining shift powered by India’s only fully integrated 0–4°C cold chain, global FSSC 22000 certification, backward integration through bio-secure poultry farms, and rigorous control over freshwater fish and seafood.
With five state-of-the-art processing centres and an annual capacity of 36,000 tonnes, Licious now serves India’s top metros - Bengaluru, NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata - through a strong online presence, expanding retail stores, and fast-growing quick commerce partnerships, including 30-minute delivery across major urban clusters. Over the years, the brand has reached 4.5 million customers, earning unmatched trust, quality leadership and a loyal following in a category long defined by guesswork.
This unwavering focus on quality, innovation, and consumer obsession has made Licious India’s first D2C unicorn. Today, it stands as the country’s most loved, iconic D2C meat brand - elevating everyday meals, setting new benchmarks for safety and freshness, and building an ecosystem where farmers, meat technicians, supply partners and delivery heroes thrive alongside millions of delighted home cooks.

Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah embarked on a journey called Pepperfry in 2011 without a precedent or a template to follow, armed only with a mission to spark a feeling called home across the world. They imagined a supercharged lovechild between technology and homely comfort to help them achieve exactly this.
11 years later with a dominant online presence and over 200 offline studios, Pepperfry has blurred the lines between online and offline.
Warm and fuzzy feelings aside - Pepperfry is a pioneer with a penchant for taking on difficult problems. Whether its designing a sofa that can survive a nuclear apocalypse or creating a lamp that doubles as a margarita maker or creating Indias biggest big-box logistic network covering over 500+ cities, weve always tried to push the boundaries of whats possible.
Weve long embraced and injected our eclectic tastes and quirky personality into everything we do.
Fun fact: Our 200 offline studios dont actually sell anything, yet they contribute to 50% of the business.
And when were not MacGyver-ing the furniture world, were looking to use technology to change the way our discerning customers shop for their homes, be it through reimagining the overall UX on how our discerning consumers buy for their homes or leveraging AR / VR to help them visualize products before buying or just using ML / Deep tech to build efficiencies in our internal processes.
