Monte Titoli, LSEG’s Italian-based Central Securities Depositary (CSD), is a leading provider of efficient and secure settlement, custody, asset servicing, collateral management and issuer services to a domestic and international client base of 188 users and more than 2,600 issuers. Monte Titoli manages a wide range of financial instruments, with €3.32 trillion assets under custody (2018: €3.29 trillion). 44.4 million settlement instructions were processed in 2019. Monte Titoli continues to provide an efficient settlement system, with a year-end settlement rate of approximately 96% of settled transactions. Monte Titoli was granted the licence to operate under the European CSD Regulation (CSD-R) in December 2019. The CSD-R aims to harmonize certain aspects of the settlement cycle and settlement discipline and to provide a set of common requirements for CSDs operating securities settlement systems across the EU.
