BiD Network is an independent impact investment advisory firm for SME’s in East Africa by facilitating tailored financial solutions throughout their life cycle. Our customers are early stage and growing businesses with a financing need of at least USD 50,000 up to USD 5M. Via our local offices in Uganda and Rwanda, we provide investment-readiness and dealmaking services to selected entrepreneurs that have at least $100.000 revenue, social impact, significant growth potential and a competent entrepreneurial team. We are also able to provide high quality deal flow to our large international network of investors, both private and institutional. BiD Network was established in 2007 with the mission to contribute to sustainable economic growth in emerging countries through entrepreneurship. We have done this by facilitating 235 investments for emerging market SME’s for a value of around $34M.

Middenin gáát voor optimaal renderend maatschappelijk vastgoed. Er is maatschappelijk grote behoefte aan duurzame en schaalbare oplossingen. Waardevolle ondernemers met deze oplossingen zijn er volop! Het probleem is; een vlotte start mogelijk te maken. Met donor-geld brengen we de wereldwijde doelen dichterbij. Het risicovolle financieringsgat voor kansrijke start-ups kan met donor-geld overbrugd worden. Door de donatie structuur is het voor de DIIF mogelijk om te investeren in kansrijke prille ondernemingen en daar het financieringsgat op te vullen. Het fonds is roterend waardoor de donatie meermaals kan worden ingezet daarnaast zorgt investeren in bedrijven voor continuïteit die niet mogelijk is bij een gift. Zo creëert de donatie effectievere impact. 100% van de donatie wordt geïnvesteerd. We investeren in Nederlandse impact-first bedrijven; het maatschappelijke doel staat voorop. Dit vraagt bewust om een andere eigendoms-structuur van de ondernemer. We relateren de impact aan de wereldwijde impact-doelen van de VN (SDG’s). Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of today. Already its impacts are being felt by people and nature across the globe, with developing countries being most affected. The Dutch Fund for Climate and Development (DFCD) enables investment in projects aimed at climate adaptation and mitigation in developing countries. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made available €160 million to increase the resilience of communities and ecosystems most vulnerable to climate change. The DFCD is managed by a pioneering consortium of Climate Fund Managers (CFM), World Wildlife Fund Netherlands (WWF-NL) and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, led by the Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank, FMO. The DFCD forms an important additional instrument for the Dutch government’s efforts in contributing to the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
