Pili, carbon conscious color company
By proposing renewable colors from the edge of biotechnology and organic chemistry, PILI is tackling the problem of color industry pollution.
We take part in a long-term revolution regarding the way we produce, use and recycle products. This new era will be partly ruled by microorganisms that can be cultivated to produce a wide variety of renewable materials at industrial scale. This technology has been used for ages, mostly in the food industry through fermentation (beer, bread, cheese, chocolate, vinegar..) and more recently in health care, where engineered microorganisms produce pharmaceutical molecules (such as insuline), these champions now show up again in the production of smart and renewable materials. PILI is focused on the biofabrication of a wide range of colors produced by microorganisms as an alternative to the petrochemical versions (non-renewable, toxic to work with..) and without the drawbacks of the vegetal ones (non scalable, expensive, dependant on weather..). A lot of industrial sectors have been waiting for such a product and they are now cooperating with us, eager to use our living colors, from textile to plastic factories, in order to develop the future of colors in which we can already predict that affordable and sustainable products will lead the way!
Our team at PILI is composed of sucessful scientists and engineers, experts in the fields of synthetic biology, bioproduction, chemistry and design. We are now working in two French-based laboratories : at Toulouse White Biotechnologies (South of France), where we bioengineer our microorganisms, and Le CNAM in Paris, where we develop sustainable synthesis and extraction methodologies and we test the properties of our biobased dyes and pigments.

Flash Therapeutics is a gene therapy company developing gene and cell-based therapies by leveraging its proprietary lentiviral platform and bioproduction technologies. The Company is built around the Vectalys lentiviral platform, which includes its patented non-integrative LentiFlash® technology, and integrative lentiviral vectors.
By providing efficient, transient and short-term RNA delivery technology, LentiFlash® is suitable for gene editing and other advanced therapeutic approaches. When stable DNA expression is needed (e.g. immunotherapy such as CAR T cells), integrative lentiviral vectors will be the delivery method of choice. Both technologies benefit from novel production and purification processes developed and continually optimized since 2005.
Flash Therapeutics was established in 2018 through the merger of FlashCell, a privately held company developing LentiFlash®, based RNA therapeutics; and Vectalys, a leading privately held 13-year old lentiviral vector manufacturer.

Pherecydes Pharma develops antibacterial treatments based on the use of bacteriophage viruses, or phages, to fight bacterial infections in humans, particularly those resistant to antibiotics. Phages are natural predators of bacteria and have no demonstrated effect on eukaryotic cells, including human cells.
Antimicrobial resistant bacteria or AMR are responsible for over 700,000 death a year in 2014 according to the WHO. This number might reach over 10,000,000 by 2050 if nothing is done, and no new class of antibiotics has been discovered in the last 30 years.
Phages represent one of the most promising approach to fight these AMR infections.
Pherecydes Pharma has introduced the concept of precision phagotherapy, which consists in treating each patient according to the activity of the phages on the bacterial strain responsible for the infection. Treatments are therefore individualized and adapted to each case.
Pherecydes Pharma has selected as priority bacterial targets Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruguinosa and Escherichia coli, that have been identified by the WHO among the most dangerous infections. These three bacteria alone account for the vast majority of nosocomial infections in industrialized countries, and as much as over 2/3rd of hospital resistant infections in France according to a recent study.
Some of the patented phages developed by Pherecydes Pharma have already been administered as part of compassionate treatments in France under the supervision of French Health authorities (ANSM).

💄 Cosmetics : Our latest innovation offers anti-aging and UV protection properties. In October 2023, in vitro studies showed that this lysate stimulates cellular functions, activates wound healing genes, promotes hyaluronic acid synthesis, and enhances anti-infective immunity. These benefits were confirmed in a spring 2024 clinical study, with statistically significant results. Amoéba has successfully registered this ingredient on the INCI list, facilitating its commercialization and establishing it as a key player in innovative skincare solutions.
🌱 Biocontrol "AXPERA": Our second technology enables plant protection in agriculture and is based on the antifungal properties of the amoeba in its lysed (non-living) form. In 2022, the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) has granted approval for the use of our solution in agriculture in the USA. In the same year, Austria issued a positive recommendation for the approval of our active substance in Europe. With this innovation, Amoéba contributes to an efficient, secure and more virtuous biological agriculture.
💧 Biocide "BIOMEBA": This historical application, initiated at the foundation of the company, enables the treatment of water in cooling towers and uses the amoeba Willaertia magna C2c Maky in its living form. In 2022, the US EPA has approved the use of our active substance in closed cooling systems in the USA, making our solution the first biological biocide approved for global industrial water treatment.

Fab’entech is a privately owned biopharmaceutical SME based in Lyon (France) and created in 2009, which develops immunotherapies to address situations of emergency.
In an environment where the globalization of trade accelerates the spread of epidemics and where the geopolitical context increases the risk of bioterrorist attacks, nations should be prepared to address various situations of public health & medical emergency. However, there is generally no real therapeutic option to fight acute symptoms arising from these neglected indications.
Based on its horse F(ab’)2 platform, a fully-derisked technology in-licensed from Sanofi Pasteur, Fab’entech aims to provide therapeutic solutions in the fields of biodefense, drug intoxication and infectious disease.
After having developed Fabenflu®, a product indicated for the treatment of avian influenza (H5N1) in human, Fab’entech is currently focusing on 3 products: a biodefense antidote developed in collaboration with the French army, a treatment for drug intoxication developed in a confidential indication, and an Ebola therapy developed with the support of the European Commission after having been identified by the WHO as the unique therapeutic solution in Europe in 2014.
